My professional services as an interpreter include simultaneous and consecutive interpreting for the following language combinations:
Spanish – German, German – Spanish
English – German, German – English
Furthermore I am fully competent with the intercultural aspects that are of high relevance for successful communication with your international clients, business partners etc.
Simultaneous interpreting
Nowadays this technique is the most commonly used at international conferences. The advantage is the minimal time delay between the original speaker and the interpreter. Usually the interpreters work in teams of two or three. Simultaneous interpreting is mostly used at international conferences where you also have the possibility to install the necessary soundproof booths.
One particular variation of this technique is whispered interpreting, which is used when there are no booths, and only two or three conference participants who need an interpreter. This variation can also be used for hearings in police or court proceedings.
In case of no availability or space for booths, the use of a wireless tour-guide set is the optimal solution for visits to a museum or a factory, where an interpretation for your visitors is required.
Unilateral/bilateral consecutive interpreting
Consecutive interpreting is a mode in which the interpreter uses a special note-taking technique to take down part of the speech or a comment of the original speaker. Subsequently the interpreter will repeat the part of the speech or the comment in the required language with the help of his notes. The time delay that occurs with this method also leads to a doubling of the overall speaking time. That is why the consecutive mode is suitable for smaller occasions like welcome or dinner speeches, contract negotiations with your affiliates or interrogations with the police.
It would be my pleasure to work as an escort interpreter for your business trips in Germany and abroad.
